Griffin & Abby- Wedding

On May 16th we photographed this beautiful wedding at the Welkinweir Estate in Pottstown, PA. The groom (Griffin) and I had grown up together as neighbors. We used to play capture the flag and roller hockey  and now I was photographing him getting married! Our day started out at The Hilton Garden Inn in Exton, PA. We couldn’t have had a better start to the day and from there on out it was beautiful.

From the Hotel we headed to Welkenweir to finish getting ready! Abby got into her dress we took the bridal parties to separate parts of the property for some formals.

Abby and Griffin really wanted to take some time and spend it together without seeing each other and as you can see it was a beautiful moment. We couldn’t help but smile as we saw the love between them as they talked and read cards from each other. This was truly a couple that belonged together.

As the musicians started to play everyone made their way to their spots and we began the ceremony.

If you couldn’t tell already there was plenty of beautiful locations to photograph from the beautiful gardens and trees to down by the pond.

As the reception started things cooled off as some rain clouds rolled through. We couldn’t have asked for better timing! The tent was stunning with all the decorations and its placement overlooking the pond. Abby’s grandmothers wedding dress was on display inside next to the guest book.  As you can see the cake was breathtaking and Griffin had a hockey themed groom’s cake. Along with the candy bar Abby’s mom made the most delicious cookies that Brit and I really enjoyed! Maybe a little to much… We each had at least 5 cookies!

For their first dance Abby & Griffin surprised their guests with a dance they had taken lessons for. They wowed everyone as they took over the floor to Ed Sheeran “Thinking Out Loud”.

As you see below as Griffin shared a dance with his mom which turned into something truly special! From singing into fake microphones made of a hair brush and a wooden spoon to a slow dance with the best man. This is by far one of the most original mother and son dances we have experienced. From there the rest of the night was an absolute blast! We hope you enjoy these as much as we did!
